PROJECT: IDENTITY CRISIS (2018)
Identity Crisis is an adaptation of a short story by Felix Chong's of the same name in his book Singapore Siu Dai
Wong Lausai (Lau sai means diarrhoea in Hokkien) has been terribly brainwashed by his local government's campaign for more gracious behaviour on the train. Mascots such as Stand-up-Stacy, Move-in-Martin and Give-way-Glenda haunts him as his condition forcefully makes him take on the personalities of the 3 different mascots.
In this film my main objective was to explore how morphing could be used to show how the world looks like through Wong Lausai's eyes. Using shapes to to morph into Lausai's delusions to capture the essence of what I feel the character is seeing in the text of the story.
